To keep the Family blog actively going!
Anyways, here are just a few quotes, Lauren meditated on during the Lenten Season. These were all taken from a book titled, "The Little Way of Lent: Meditations in the Spirt of St. Therese of Lisieux"
These still are close to my heart even after Lent!
"At the heart of the paschal mystery is God's desire to redeem us and make us his own." (p. xi)
"God has already charted the course for us and knows best how we can reach our destination. This way leads to a land promising more than milk and honey. Yet following the way of Christ demands exactly what was demanded of him: the cross." (p. 5)
"Jesus lays down his life precisely because sacrifice lies at the heart of any vibrant relationship. God's perspective is always greater than our own." (p. 6)
"St. Therese saw and experienced reality through 'the gracious gift of the one man Jesus Christ'...She believed that Jesus had willingly exposed himself to the perils of mankind so that mankind could be exposed to the glories of God. She never put God to the test, but tested herself. Where Satan though he could have Jesus demand that the Father bend his will to the Son, Therese was content to continually bend her will to God's. The Season of Lent is about bending our will. It is about opening ourselves to the truth of reality, our own and that of creation." (p.14)
Then I also prayed through Psalm 36:
~Commit your life to the Lord and he will act on your behalf
~Wait for the Lord and keep to his way
~Take delight in the Lord and he will give you what your heart desires
~Take your rest in the Lord and he will act
~Entrust your journey to the Lord and hope in him: and he will act
