March for Life 2011

The Baltimore Conference was the weekend before the March for Life! So we simply traveled from Baltimore to DC to March for Life! We actually ended up being at the end of the March, but proudly leading us were my cousins Jim and Jill. They are carrying the official banner in the second photo below!!!

Please pray for Life! Pray that we all may come to understand that Life begins at conception!

FOCUS Conference '11 - Baltimore

We traveled to Baltimore Maryland, for one of the four regional FOCUS conferences this year. We were united with 5000 students throughout the country by attending this conference. This was Lauren's first conference to attend. She felt blessed to see FOCUS in action and to see Christ alive in so many of the lives of the students there. Nathan would also like to share some of his stories of the weekend. So please either check back for an update, or we will share more in upcoming posts!!!

You can also check out this site to see more about what took place in Baltimore!

Our view of the Inner Harbor from our hotel!
The ballroom that hosted several keynote speakers, performers, Mass, and Adoration!

I just thought this red painting at our hotel was cool, so I made Nathan pose in front of it!

Food :)

Being married has encouraged both of us to take time for cooking! It has been actually a great opportunity for quality time together since once the meal is cooked, we devour it quickly :)

We continue to enjoy using our wok, but some of our more recent endeavors have been a creamy pesto chicken pasta dish, Nathan had prepared for us on our sixth month anniversary! It was delicious and a great treat to come home to after a day at school!

Our next "first" was chicken enchiladas. Mexican is hard to come by here in Philly, so we both had a desire to eat some good Mexican. What came about were these delicious enchiladas!!!
Bon Appetit!

Speaking of food....Here in Philadelphia, you can find Arrowhead East :)
An avid Chiefs fan has a Chiefs bar year round in downtown Philly! It is loaded with Chiefs paraphernalia.
Nathan enjoyed watching a Chiefs game with our friend Chris.

Lauren's Renewal of CYJOY Promises

I, Lauren, promised for her third year to commitments of the lay movement of the Apostles of the Interior Life, called Collaborators. I was joined with her fellow "family" members and the new "family" members who took the promise this year. This event is such a blessing in so many ways. First and foremost because it is an opportunity to rededicate my life to Christ at the start of the new year. This promise took place on January 1st, on the feast of Mary Mother of God. Secondly, because many of my great friends from Kansas City were in one place when we came home to visit! God made it easy to see many people in such a short amount of time :)

To learn more about this promise or who the Apostles of the Interior Life or Collaborators are, just ask me :)
